Curious Minds (Staff CPD, Information & Resources)

ince 2008, Curious Minds has been connecting children and young people, teachers and youth workers with incredible artists and creative practitioners; giving them access to information, expertise, space and resources to facilitate collaboration and innovation in the field of creative and cultural education.

Curious Minds are an ambitious charity that works to bring about positive and lasting change. They provide strategic support to the cultural education workforce and deliver learning and development programmes that help diversify and professionalise the field of cultural education. They use the terms ‘Backbone Organisation’ and ‘Field Building Catalyst’ to describe how they work across multiple sectors to support, develop, champion and mobilise the cultural education workforce to achieve collective impact.

They achieve national and international reach but focus their work in the North of England. The team draws expertise from across the education, culture, public and private sectors.

Curious Minds is an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation, which means they receive funding from taxpayers to help ensure all children and young people have access to the transformative benefits of creativity and culture.

Cultivate culture, creativity and curiosity in your school.

Leading the Arts in Your School is Curious Minds’ annual arts leadership programme for teachers who want to shape their school's journey in culture and the arts.

You might already use creativity within your teaching practice, or you might have been given an arts-based responsibility that you need support and inspiration fulfilling. This programme empowers teachers (of all phases) to champion the arts, integrate them into school improvement plans, and advocate for their significance to colleagues and parents alike.

The modular course is delivered through a combination of in-person and online learning – a blended model which offers flexibility for busy teachers. Sessions from from Jan-July 2025.

Applications are now open. Apply on our website before 4 November 24: https://curiousminds.org.uk/leadership-training-consultancy/leading-the-arts-in-your-school/
